Photos placed in the Hidden album remain in your library but are removed from normal library views. On current iOS versions, opening Hidden can require Face ID, Touch ID, or the iPhone passcode.
Open the authenticated Hidden collection
In current Photos, hidden pictures are stored in the Hidden collection and can require Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode before they are shown. Open Photos, navigate to the utilities/collections area, and open Hidden, then authenticate. If Hidden is not visible, review the Photos settings that control whether the Hidden album is shown. Hiding a photo is different from deleting it: a deleted photo goes to Recently Deleted, while a hidden photo remains in the library but is kept out of the normal library views.

If the Hidden album itself is missing
